It was not meant to be this way-

Years of promises remained unfulfilled.

Slew of lies normalized with time;

Ignorance overrode knowledge.

Erudition forcefully erased,

Crude illiteracy got precedence.

It was indeed not meant to be –

Yet it happened.

Education,employment crumbled

Like a pack of cards.

Deprived all aspirants of their dreams.

Dreams snatched, voices throttled;

Snatched our feelings too-

Yet we were quiet and blinded; Imbibed all

Yet.It was not meant to be this way-

But one day you hit on our inner pride-

You killed our sister-

Your system vandalized our esteem.

Your deceit stirred our inner emotions.

Your shameless sneer at our hapless cries.

Forced us all to be out on the streets,

Protesting loudly, fiercely,against YOU

Against all wrongdoings Against your Filthy cabal.!

And this overturn scared you.

Imposed restrictions on our basic rights-

Freedom of Speech

Freedom to assemble & peacefully protest!

But,this is what is  truly meant to be!

And what will be from now on!
